God's Plan for Man's Salvation
- Romans 3: 23 - First we must realize that without Christ, we are sinners. We must also come to realize that our own goodness will not get us to heaven.
- Romans 6: 23a - It is essential that we recognize sin as being dangerous. Sin not only takes it's toll on us in this life, but condemns us to eternal ruin.
- Romans 6: 23b - Salvation cannot be earned. no amount of good works will get us in to heaven. Salvation is a free gift, and must be personally received.
- John 3: 16 - Jesus willingly gave His life on the cross as a substitute for our sins so that we could escape eternal punishment.
- Luke 13: 3 - Sorrow over sin is the step toward repentance. Repentance involves a change of mind and a willingness to turn away from sin, as well as a desire to live for Jesus.
- Romans 10: 9-10 - Salvation is received by faith. We must believe that Jesus is the Son of God and that salvation is possible only through his shed blood.
- Romans 10: 13 - When we, with sincere heart, ask Him to save us, He will.
- I John 1: 9 - When we confess our sins to Him, we have His promise that we will be forgiven.
- Revelation 3: 20 - Christ seeks entrance into the heart of the sinner. We must invite Him to come in.
